5 Comic Book Heroes Who Could Exist. So in this list, I'll be showing you 5 Comic Book Heroes Who Could Exist
Cyclops is part of the X-men and his special mutation is that he's able to shoot powerful beams of energy from his eyes.
While his superpower sounds cool, I can imagine it being a pain the arse and extremely dangerous should his glasses ever randomly fall off.
Saying that how exactly was cyclops born, surely he would have just destroyed his mother and everyone around him during birth.
Anyway if you really want cyclops type powers you may be in luck.
Physicists at Massachusetts General Hospital have successfully altered human cells so they can emit light of their own.
This was done to help track cells during cancer treatment.
However, theoretically, they could make it so people can shoot beams of light out of their eyes.
Sadly these beams of light would be more like a flashlight than what Cyclops has.
4) Captain America
Captain America wasn't born with any powers.
Two of his new super features included the ability to make him grow and by injecting him with a serum that makes him super strong.
So is there an injection that can make you tall and strong?
Not quite but we do have something similar.
If you want to become taller that is possible through a painful surgery.
Essentially doctors break your bones and implant telescoping rods that stretch your bones apart at the rate of 1 millimetre per day.
One man who had this operation twice managed to grow an extra 6 inches.
So if you're already quite tall you could become something of a giant by having this surgery.
So what about super strength?
Well, you could do it the old-fashioned way by going to the gym and working out like mad but if you prefer the lazy way then science has you covered.
A team of researchers in Ohio developed an injection that will increase muscle mass with a single injection.
The injection essentially suppresses the myostatin that stops muscle growth.
It was developed to help patients who suffer from muscular diseases but can work in healthy people too.
Sadly you won't become hench instantly, the shot does take about 6 months for muscle to grow but its still easier than going to the gym.
Wolverine is another X-men character and his special mutation is the ability to heal super fast and has retractable claws.
While his claws were originally bone, he had his whole skeleton enhanced by a fictional indestructible metal called adamantium.
So how can you become like Wolverine?
First, let's look at his super healing ability.
While as of right now we cant make you heal like him but what we have discovered is pretty amazing.
A researcher at Harvard accidentally came across a gene that helped with rapid regeneration.
He punched holes in the ears of mice who were given this gene and noticed the holes healed very quick.
Then he literally clipped off their toes and again a short time later they grew back.
This may be the answer to give humans wolverine style healing abilities.
As for the claws, they don't really exist but researchers in Germany did successfully manage to combine iodized metal with the silk string from a spider which they feel can be one day used to strengthen bones.
If you combine the two you have some weird budget version of Wolverine.
2) Iron Man
Iron Man is all about his suit which is packed full of crazy technology.
First, let's start by saying there's no exoskeleton or suit that can make you fly vertically, or have repulsor beams and definitely wouldn't have an arc reactor.
However, there are some pretty amazing exoskeletons that can massively improve your strength, speed, ability to jump and climb.
The Raytheon’s XOS 2 exoskeleton suit is a good example.
Many exoskeletons are being developed all for different purposes.
Even the US military is looking into the technology and they have something called the TALOS which is expected to be ready for combat in 2018.
Out of all the superheroes on this list, the one most likely to exist will be Batman.
That's because Batman really is just a rich guy with a lot of gadgets.
A money lending website estimated Batman would have spent around $648 million becoming Batman.
So if you have that kind of money maybe you could actually become a real superhero.
But money is not all he has.
First, you're going to need to be physically fit and know how to fight.
Youll needs more than just a mask to hide the fact your buying millions of dollars worth of high-end military grade technology.
Something that if you even tried would get you investigated immediately.
So while you technically could become Batman, it does on paper seem like a big waste of money.
