5) Chris Pratt
Chriss Pratt kind of accidentally stumbled into stardom.
After dropping out of college after a single semester he took a one-way ticket to Maui.
There he was homeless, sleeping either on the beach or in a van.
According to him he only had enough money to cover gas, food and fishing supplies.
He landed himself a job waiting tables at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company where he met Rae Dawn Chong.
She offered him a part in Cursed Part 3, a movie she was directing and since then he's been a Hollywood superstar.
4) Jim Carrey
Jim Carrey had quite a hard start in life.
When he was 15 years old his father lost his job as a security guard they had to sleep in their camper van.
He had to try and work odd jobs to make ends meet before deciding to pursue his career as an entertainer and comedian.
At first, it was rocky, his stand up work wasn't well received but Carrey remained persistent.
When he moved to LA things changed.
During a gig at the Comedy Store, Rodney Dangerfield saw his performance.
He liked Carrey so much he booked him as his opening act.
From there on Carrey was offered roles in movies and his first major breakthrough occurred with Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
3) Daniel Craig
Before Daniel Craig was James Bond he was occasionally sleeping rough on park benches.
He had a string of low paying jobs such as waiting tables all while trying to make it as an actor.
However, he gained national attention when he played Geordie Peacock in the 1996 BBC miniseries Our Friends In The North.
From there on he got offered numerous other roles however he turned most of them down.
However, his real international Hollywood breakthrough came in 2006 when he first played James Bond in Casino Royale.
2) Sylvester Stallone
Stallone today is arguably one of the most famous action stars.
But before he was Rocky or Rambo he was homeless and struggling to land roles.
He even had to sell his dog since he couldn't afford to buy food.
However, his luck changed when he wrote the script for Rocky in just three days.
Producers offered him $350,000 for the screenplay but amazingly Stallone had a counter offer.
He insisted he would only sell the screenplay if he got to play Balboa and told them they can keep their $350,000 and only pay him $35,000.
Rocky went on to become a huge success earning $225 million.
But most importantly it established Stallone as an actor and since then he hasn't had a problem landing roles.
By gambling $350,000 he ended up gaining hundreds of millions and a very successful career.
1) Halle Berry
When Halle Berry was 21 she was living on her own in New York City.
Whenever she needed money her mother would always help her out however one time her mother refused.
Berry had to briefly live in a homeless shelter and didn't speak to her mother for 18 months.
However today she says she looks back at that moment and realises what her mother did was a blessing.
It allowed her to become self-sufficient and understand the value of money.
